Visit to Nottingham 2009

Lincoln members visiting Nottingham June 2009VISIT TO NOTTINGHAM 2009

In June several members of LAWG spent an enjoyable day with members of the Nottingham association. They were met at the station and taken to the University campus where they had a pleasant lunch in the Djanogly building.  Afterwards they visited the exhibition by a Spanish artist Joan Fontcuberta who makes use of advanced ground measuring technology and the Internet to produce unusual and sometimes disconcerting images.

In glorious sunshine, we visited two gardens, the second being the Millennium Garden.  Finally we enjoyed a private tour of the University Library which houses some of the most advanced technology in the country, for students working individually or in groups. The layout of the upper two floors was perhaps more familiar to most of us in the group.  The facilities were most impressive.  millennium garden

All in all we had a diverse and interesting visit and our thanks go to the Nottingham members for their hospitality.
